Consultant to the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the Inter-American Development Bank, the United Nations, and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean. Member of the board of several companies and academic institutions in Chile, the United States and Europe. Member of the board of Chile´s Foundation for the Alleviation of Poverty, and of Universidad Catolica´s Sports Club Foundation (largest and most diverse sports club in Chile, with 14 active sports branches). Advisor to ProHumana (principal Chilean organization promoting corporate social responsibility). Fellow, World Economic Forum. President, Felipe Larraín B. & Associates. A project of Harvard University, INCAE (Central America’s Business School) and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE), to promote sustained development in the region. Advisor to the governments of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. January - July 1993 Advisor to the World Bank's Chief Economist for the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe on economic reform and stabilization in Russia. As part of the work, made three-week trip to Moscow, St. Petersburg, and the Urals. May 1988 - March 1990 Visiting Scholar in the Department of Economics, Harvard University. Wrote a book on macroeconomics for the global economy with Professor Jeffrey Sachs. 3 Economic advisor to the Governments of Bolivia, Ecuador and Venezuela. January 1988 - March 1988 Consultant in the Office of the Vice-President for Latin America and the Caribbean, The World Bank, Washington, D.C. Coordinated and completed the project "Public Sector Behavior in Highly Indebted Countries of Latin America". Also responsible for coordination of the project "Managing Latin America's Debt: the Contribution of Debt Swaps". January 1987 - March 1987 Consultant in the Country Policy Department, The World Bank, Washington, D.C. Prepared and coordinated the six-country project "Public Sector Behavior in Highly Indebted Countries of Latin America". January 1986 and March 1986 Consultant in the Office of the Vice-President for Operations Policy, The World Bank, Washington D.C. Conducted research on Latin American macroeconomic issues. October 1985 - February 1986 Economic advisor to the Government of Bolivia on the country's stabilization program. La Paz, Bolivia. October 1985 Consultant on macroeconomic policy to CORDIPLAN and the Central Bank of Venezuela. Caracas, Venezuela. September 1982 - June 1984 Teaching Assistant for Macroeconomic Theory, both at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and for the Undergraduate Thesis Seminar in International Economics.
